Package tracking in Finland

International package tracking in Finland

Track a parcel from abroad with the number supplied by the sender or online shop. International shipments often move through several networks, so the visible carrier and tracking events can change before final delivery in Finland.

How international tracking works

The first carrier records pickup and export events. Airlines, postal networks or consolidators then move the parcel across borders. After arrival, Posti or another Finnish carrier records customs release, terminal processing and final delivery.

Why the carrier changes

Cross-border sellers often buy one transport service for the export leg and a partner service for the destination country. A handover is normal and does not mean the parcel was sent to the wrong company. Check both the original carrier and Posti tracking when Finland is the destination.

Can the same tracking number work in Finland?

Often yes. Postal S10 numbers and many commercial identifiers travel with the parcel. Some consolidators issue a separate last-mile number; it may appear as a linked or local tracking number in the event history.

UPU S10 numbers

An S10 identifier has two letters, nine digits and a two-letter country code, for example RR123456789CN. The final letters identify the issuing postal authority, not necessarily the parcel's current location or destination.

Packages from China and Asia

Marketplace shipments may begin with Cainiao, YunExpress or another logistics partner. Economy services can have sparse scans between export and arrival in Europe. Customs data can be submitted before the parcel physically reaches Finland.

Customs and stopped tracking

A tracking pause of several days can occur during air transport, customs or a carrier handover. Check that customs or VAT action is not required and allow the destination carrier time to register the parcel. If the estimated window has passed, contact the seller with the troubleshooting details.

Frequently asked questions

Why did my package change carrier?

International logistics networks use local partners for the destination country's final delivery.

Does the same number work after arrival in Finland?

Often it does, especially for postal S10 numbers, but some services issue a new last-mile number.

Does a CN ending mean the parcel is still in China?

No. It identifies the postal authority that issued an S10 number, not the parcel's current location.

Why are there no events during air transport?

Parcels are not always scanned between export processing and arrival at the next hub.
