This guide concerns deliveries in Finland. Source links retain their stated language and country scope.
Check official tracking and delivery details, report the issue through the right channel and, for an online order, contact the seller too.
Updated
Pakettiseuranta.fi is an independent guidance service. We do not send search requests or compensation claims to carriers. Selecting guidance does not start an investigation.
Check the carrier’s official tracking and estimated delivery time. Electronic advance information alone does not show that the parcel has been handed over for transport; ask the sender about the handover.
If the parcel has been accepted for transport, check the latest event. When it transfers between carriers, ask the sender for the final delivery carrier and a second tracking number.
If delivery is delayed, report the issue through the channel below. A gap in tracking or failed carrier identification alone does not mean the parcel is lost.
Tracking says delivered, but the parcel cannot be found
Check the delivery time, stated delivery location and any delivery photo or proof of delivery in official tracking.
Check the agreed safe place and whether someone in your household received it. Arrival at a collection point does not mean delivery to the recipient.
If the parcel is still missing, notify the carrier and the seller or sender immediately. This situation alone does not establish theft or determine entitlement to compensation.
The carrier has confirmed that the parcel is lost
Keep the carrier’s confirmation of the loss and any case reference.
Gather the shipment details and proof of value using the checklist below.
Agree with the eligible claimant on starting the compensation process under the relevant service’s guidance. The buyer’s case with the seller and a transport compensation claim are separate processes.
Recipient, sender and compensation
As the recipient, ask the sender for the necessary shipment details. You can report a missing parcel; the right to report it and eligibility to claim compensation are different matters.
As the sender, check your handover receipt and transport contract. Request an investigation from your contracted service and check who can claim compensation.
For an online purchase, contact the seller too. Resolving the purchase with the seller is separate from the seller’s transport compensation claim.
For a shipment between private individuals, agree with the other party on how to investigate and check the guidance of the transport service and any marketplace used.
Ask the sender to confirm the contracting party for transport. Your role is not determined solely by who paid the delivery fee.
As the sender of an online order, handle the buyer’s case separately from your own transport compensation claim. If you are not the seller, coordinate the investigation with the seller too.
Carrier compensation may not cover the full value of the goods. Damage, missing contents, delay and loss of the entire shipment are different situations; their deadlines are not interchangeable.
Shipment from abroad
Check official tracking for the final delivery carrier and any local tracking number. If they are not shown, ask the sender. An unknown final delivery carrier is not assumed to be Posti. We do not transfer tracking numbers or personal details to this help page.
Carrier guidance and sources
Below are guidance and limitations for all 16 services. A general contact channel does not verify compensation terms. The date records a review of the source content, not just a link check.
If the search does not locate the shipment, compensation is normally claimed by the sender, the contracting party that paid Posti for transport. A delivery fee paid by the recipient to the seller does not by itself make the recipient eligible to claim.

Matkahuolto
Who to contact
Report the missing shipment to the seller or sender without delay.
Compensation
For an online purchase, submit your complaint to the seller. For a shipment between private individuals, the sender is the primary claimant. Have proof of the purchase price and the weight of the missing goods ready.
The contract customer claims compensation from PostNord. If you are not a contract customer, contact the party from whom you bought the product or service; for an online purchase, contact the seller.
Service-specific time limit or waiting period: Report a PostNord shipment that has not arrived to customer service within 14 calendar days of the expected delivery date. This is a notification deadline, not a minimum waiting period. Source for the time guidance

DHL eCommerce: when an international shipment has not arrived
Who to contact
Ask the sender or online shop to investigate the shipment with DHL eCommerce.
A DHL eCommerce claim can be filed by the sender who is DHL’s contract partner. The recipient deals with the seller or sender about compensation.
Service-specific time limit or waiting period: If an international DHL eCommerce shipment has not arrived 10 calendar days after the estimated delivery date, contact the sender or online shop to request an investigation. This is guidance on waiting before requesting an investigation, not the final day for a claim or a declaration that the parcel is lost. Source for the time guidance

UPS
Who to contact
You can file a claim for a lost parcel on the UPS website. The recipient can usually start as a guest too; restrictions on the sender’s account may prevent this. In that case, contact the sender.
UPS normally pays compensation for an approved claim to the sender. Filing a claim does not mean that the person filing it receives compensation. Have the tracking number, a detailed description of the goods and proof of value ready.
Scope: UPS claims guidance for Finland; the country of origin affects the terms.

DSV / DB Schenker
Schenker’s Finnish operations joined DSV companies on 1 December 2025. The old DB Schenker search term and tracking page address are retained. Use your shipment’s own tracking link; the name change alone does not determine the contract terms.
Who to contact
Ask customer service to locate the shipment. If it cannot be found, a compensation claim is submitted after the search period specified by the company. The length of that period has not been verified.
Schenker guidance directs private individuals to the seller of the goods. Other claimants’ eligibility depends on the contract and who bore the risk for the goods. Confirm the correct service for your shipment with DSV. The DSV claims channel is myDSV, or eClaims for customers with a Schenker contract; choose the channel specified by your contract.
